Vapramäe Nature House

Location: The hiking trails are located ~20-25 km from Tartu and are in the vicinity of the town of Elva. The Nature House is located near the Vapramäe bus stop on the Tartu-Valga road.

We invite you to take an active holiday on the hiking trails of Vapramäe, Vellavere and Vitipalu and to visit the Vapramäe Nature House.

When visiting our hiking trails, you can choose the hiking package, adventure tour or nature education programme that suits you best, order picnic packs, and to make your hiking day more exciting, you can also hire a guide from our side. We can put together a hike to suit you.

There are marked hiking and cycling trails, picnic and camping areas, a hikers' hut for overnight stays, a lookout tower, a witch house and playgrounds. At the start of the trails there are information boards, a car park and an eco-toilet.

Additional facilities: Tartu Observatory in Tõravere, Hellenurme watermill, canoe trips on the Elva river, fishing. Accommodation in the area, ordering a picnic.

In the Vapramäe Nature House you can visit the exhibition and ask for information about hiking trails in the area. There is a car park at the Nature House and the hiking trail starts from here. The Nature House is large enough to accommodate kindergarten and school children, families and nature-loving groups; yet small enough to feel at home and comfortable. It is a place to learn about nature through a variety of games or to engage in more serious exploration using educational tools. The Nature House is equipped with modern technology. Our facilities can be used for nature lessons, seminars, training courses, meetings and children's birthday parties. In between the training sessions we can offer adventurous hikes in nature.
