Tõstamaa Manor

Location: Tõstamaa Manor is located 1 km north of the centre of Tõstamaa township, along the Kalli road. Tõstamaa is located 50 km from Pärnu, driving along the Pärnu-Vabrla road.

Tõstamaa Manor is one of the most famous and beautiful sights of Pärnu County. The first records of the manor date back to the 16th century. The present main building was completed in 1804. The manor has had several different owners over the centuries, but the last noble family to reside here was the Stael von Holstein family. The Stael von Holsteins were the owners of Tõstamaa Manor for three generations (1831-1919), namely Wilhelm Fromhold, August Johann and Alexander Stael von Holstein, who were known as the Stupid, Crazy and Wise Baron, respectively. The Wise Baron was a famous Oriental scholar at the beginning of the 20th century and a renowned professor at both Harvard and Beijing.

Today, the renovated manor house is home to the Tõstamaa Secondary School and a tourist information point is open during the summer months.

We organise guided tours and various events, from seminars to weddings, throughout the year.

In addition, we offer accommodation in the manor's hostel, which is housed in a former stable and carriage house, and organise camps, concerts and much more.
