Vapramäe–Vellavere–Vitipalu nature trails

Vapramäe, Vellavere and Vitipalu near the town of Elva represent places of remarkable natural beauty and well-established network of nature paths. These areas have a combined network of different nature trails, hiking and sport routes as well as recreation areas. Regular hiking events are organised around here. Vapramäe and Vitipalu at the Elva River are designated as landscape reserves to preserve the forest landscape with varying topography. Both areas are suitable for summer and winter recreation. The Elva River has been lately cleaned from trash and can now be enjoyed from boat or canoe. The pine forests of the Vitipalu area are very popular among mushroom pickers. Small lakes hidden in the midst of forest attract people with their intimacy. In the local centre of nature education situated in Vellavere various activities in the scenic village landscape are organised.
